For vehicles from manufacturers like BENZ, BMW, Audi, and others that have electronic exhaust valves, if the malfunction indicator light comes on due to a fault in the electronic exhaust valve or a loose plug connection, the Engine Control Unit (ECU) will detect a hardware anomaly. In mild cases, the malfunction indicator light will stay illuminated constantly, and in severe cases, the engine may go into a protective mode, preventing normal driving.

Therefore, if the electronic exhaust valve is damaged or needs to be bypassed due to exhaust system modifications, it is necessary to reconnect the original factory plug to the decode module to bypass the signal and prevent signal interruptions that could cause the malfunction indicator light to come on.
