Supercar Vacuum Exhaust Valve Controller
Many European performance cars and supercars come equipped with factory vacuum-actuated exhaust valve systems — using engine vacuum pressure to control valve position through solenoid valves. The factory ECU manages when the valves open and close based on RPM, throttle position, and drive mode. In practice, this often means the valves won't open when you want them to, or won't close when you need them to — leaving the driver with no real control over exhaust valve behavior.
The X-FLAP TVL series is Shadow's solution for these vehicles. Through the app or the included wireless remote, you take direct control of three valve states: ON (fully open), OFF (closed), and NOR (return to factory ECU logic).
Control Modes
X-FLAP TVL offers three control modes, switchable in real time via remote or app.
ON｜Force Open
Valve held fully open, overriding factory drive mode settings. For maximum exhaust note and minimum back pressure.
OFF｜Force Closed
Valve held fully closed. For quiet driving situations.
NOR｜OEM Restore
Valve returns to factory ECU control logic, adjusting automatically based on RPM, throttle position, and drive mode.
Design Features
1. Fully Sealed Waterproof, Engine Bay or Underbody Mount
The control unit features a fully waterproof sealed construction. It can be mounted in the engine bay or under the chassis alongside the solenoid valve — no cabin wiring required. This reduces installation time and minimizes exposure to water and physical impact.
2. Plug-and-Play, Non-Destructive Installation
The wiring harness connects to the factory solenoid using a non-destructive plug-in connector, with an additional ground wire secured to the chassis. No extra wiring or power source required. No modification to factory wiring — the unit can be removed at any time, restoring the vehicle to original condition. Factory warranty remains unaffected.
3. Wireless Remote + Smartphone App
Includes a physical wireless remote alongside full app support (iOS 17.0+ / Android 5.0+). The app displays real-time valve status and provides startup default mode configuration, solenoid output direction swap (REVERSE SWITCH), and remote pairing.
4. Default Power-On Mode
Configure the default mode after power-on via the app: restore last state (LST), force open (ON), force closed (OFF), or factory mode with no intervention (NOR).
What's Included & Versions
TVL comes in multiple versions based on the type and number of factory solenoid valves. Confirm your vehicle's solenoid configuration before ordering — versions are not interchangeable.

Includes: control unit, wireless remote, waterproof cover, 100CM solenoid signal cable, polarity reversal cable, and instruction manual.
Single-Solenoid Version｜TVL-EA6
Includes: control unit, wireless remote, waterproof cover, 100CM solenoid signal cable, and instruction manual.
Dual-Solenoid Version｜TVL-EDA3
Includes: control unit, wireless remote, waterproof cover, 100CM and 200CM solenoid signal cables, two polarity reversal cables, and instruction manual. One unit controls both left and right valves simultaneously.
Different vehicles may require different versions depending on factory valve configuration. Even within the same brand, not all models share the same setup. Confirm vehicle model, year, and valve type before ordering.

X-FLAP TL Electronic Exhaust Valve Controller
Many vehicles equipped with multi-angle electronic exhaust valve motors rely on the ECU to dynamically adjust valve opening based on RPM, throttle position, drive mode, and vehicle state. As emission and noise regulations tighten, even with the factory sport exhaust engaged and the drive mode set to Sport or Sport+, the valves may not fully open — often staying at a partially open position. The X-FLAP TL is Shadow's electronic exhaust valve control solution developed specifically for new-generation Mercedes-Benz. Beyond switching valve states directly via remote or smartphone app, it introduces a half-open correction feature in NOR (OEM Follow) mode: when the ECU has commanded the valve to open but still restricts the actual opening angle, X-FLAP automatically corrects it to fully open. New-generation Mercedes-Benz electronic exhaust valves incorporate more comprehensive communication feedback, actuation monitoring, and diagnostic mechanisms. Using a controller that doesn't properly interface with the factory control logic — or disconnecting the factory valve motor entirely — can generate related fault codes, and may even trigger Limp Mode, restricting engine output or boost pressure. The wiring harness uses OEM-spec connectors for true plug-and-play installation — no wire cutting required. It preserves the factory operating interface, removes the factory opening restrictions, lets the sport exhaust truly open all the way, and puts control back in the driver's hands.
