While gaining control of the valves, the operation of the vehicle system is not affected.
Many European performance vehicles come factory-fitted with electronic exhaust valves — but valve behavior is controlled by the driving mode, not the driver. Even on vehicles equipped with a stock performance exhaust, regulatory constraints often restrict valve opening angles — holding back both the exhaust note and flow efficiency.
X-FLAP OEM Exhaust Valve Controller works without modifying the factory system, putting valve control back in your hands. Switch states instantly via remote or smartphone app, independent of driving mode. Installation uses OEM-spec connectors — no wire cutting required — and can be fully removed to restore the original configuration. Every unit includes a built-in Decode Module (signal loopback mechanism) to keep the ECU reading normal signals, eliminating the need for a separate shielding device.
Standard (Universal)
Designed for the 3PIN/4PIN electronic exhaust valve motors found in most European performance vehicles, including older-generation Mercedes-Benz models using the 3PIN motor. Compatible with BMW, Volkswagen, Audi, Porsche, and affiliated marques — high installation flexibility across a wide range of models.
Control Modes
X-FLAP offers three control modes, switchable in real time via remote or app.
Features
ON｜Force Open
Valve held at 100% open, overriding factory driving mode settings. Ideal for maximum exhaust note and minimum back pressure.
OFF｜Force Closed
Valve held at 100% closed. Recommended at low RPM and light load — ideal for quiet driving.
NOR｜OEM Follow Mode
Follows the factory ECU control strategy, keeping the exhaust valve in sync with OEM logic.
Half-Open Correction｜Auto-Corrects Partial Opening to Full Open
On certain vehicles, even with the factory sport exhaust switch engaged or the driving mode set to Sport, the valve only opens to a partially open or half-open position. With X-FLAP installed, NOR mode automatically detects the opening angle and corrects it to full open — letting the factory sport exhaust switch and driving modes deliver their full open-valve potential.
*This feature applies only to select vehicles equipped with factory multi-stage (multi-angle) valve motors.
Startup Default Mode
The default mode on startup can be configured via app: either recall the state before the last power-off, or lock in ON, OFF, or NOR.
Design Features
1. Built-in Decode Module (Signal Loopback Mechanism)
X-FLAP includes a built-in signal restoration mechanism. The ECU continues to receive signals it recognizes as normal — no additional shielding device required. This effectively prevents DTC faults and warning lights from being triggered.
2. Fully Sealed Waterproof Design, Suitable for Underbody Installation
The controller housing is made from PBT GF30 engineering plastic, offering strong heat resistance and impact durability. Combined with a fully sealed weather-resistant compound, it can be mounted directly at a chassis high-point using existing factory bolt holes. No cabin wiring is required, reducing installation time and minimizing exposure to water accumulation and physical impact.
3. Plug-and-Play, Non-Destructive Installation
OEM-spec connectors and a modular design mean no wire cutting and no modification to the factory harness. The unit can be removed at any time, restoring the vehicle to its original state — factory warranty remains unaffected.
